Peter’s Brand Pilsner

Written by

Cracked this import while watching some great playoff football. Not a lot of history on this brew nor its brewery. So if any of you beer connoisseurs have a little insight on Peters brand, feel free to share it with us! With that, I will dive right in…

At first pour, this true pilsner was clear and golden with a half finger frothy head that vanished following my first big sip. It smelled of traditional malts and barley with a smoky backdrop. The taste was malty and grainy that was balanced and flavorful. This brew was cold, crisp and smooth that finished well on the palate and left a sweet malty aftertaste that was quite pleasuring. Decent brew! Better if you like enjoying pilsners by the dozen.

  1. Being a raw-fish-eating Dutchman myself, I came to the US at age 25, now I am 63. I have been back to Holland 12 times over the years, once for a stretch of 3 months. I swear this is Heineken under a different name and lower price. Why ? : Bud Light has Natural Lights at a lower price to compete in the market of cheaper beers such as Pabst.
I think Peter’s is a lower cost product of Heineken, just to compete.

  2. I may add, that people that know beer would not confuse German, Dutch or Belgian beer. Funny how expensive Stella Artois is here in the USA. Years ago, it was known as “nickelbeer”. Cheap, but drinkable. Now it is gourmet beer.

  3. hey, check the label, use google and forget about the Heineken theory:
It’s made by a middle class private brewery in Germany (not Bavaria).

  4. I am having this beer tonight and went to see what I could find out about the brand. As a previous reviewer mentioned, I feel it tasted similar to Heineken as well. I give it 3.9 out of a 5, and the B- review I would also agree. For its price point, its enjoyable and mellow with a mild coppery flavor on the nose.
